From reactive and corrective services to proactive and predictive maintenance, we cover it all. The Asset Management Design (AMD) department plays a key role in this, developing and delivering asset management solutions such as spare part packages, vessel operating manuals, maintenance plans, and performance analyses. /p h3Your role: Create clarity, drive quality /h3 pAs a Technical Author, you will be the voice of clarity in our ship documentation. You’ll transform complex technical information into clear, user-friendly manuals and guides that empower our customers and crews to operate safely and efficiently. /p h3What you’ll do /h3 h3Document /h3 ul liDevelop new vessel operating manuals and enhance existing documentation. /li liCustomize content to meet specific customer and vessel needs. /li /ul h3Research /h3 ul liGather information through literature review, expert interviews, and technical analysis. /li liInterpret manufacturer guidelines and regulatory requirements. /li /ul h3Write /h3 ul liCreate precise, unambiguous content in English. /li liApply and refine our writing style guide, including Simplified Technical English (STE) where applicable. /li /ul h3Manage /h3 ul liLead your own documentation projects, including planning and budgeting. /li liEnsure timely delivery and alignment with customer expectations. /li /ul h3Collaborate /h3 ul liWork closely with multidisciplinary teams across Damen. /li liCommunicate respectfully with internal and external stakeholders. /li /ul h3Who we’re looking for /h3 pWe’re looking for detail-driven communicators who thrive in technical environments. /p h3You are: /h3 ul liEducated at HBO level with a technical background. /li liExperienced – at least 3 years as a Technical Author. /li liSkilled in CCMS, XML and DITA; Adobe framemaker is considered a plus. /li liFluent in English, with a knack for clear writing. /li liFamiliar with STE (preferred). /li liIndependent yet collaborative; you can lead projects and work in teams. /li liAdaptable; you handle shifting priorities with ease. /li liAbility to read and interpret engineering (PID) drawings. /li /ul h3Why Damen? /h3 pAt Damen, we believe that supporting and managing talented individuals is essential to our success.
