As Surgical account manager supporting the Surgical Sales team, you will be trusted to oversee the intraocular lens (IOL) portfolio , showcasing expertise in our products’ benefits and differentiating them from competitive offerings through high-level technical consultancy  in assigned accounts. 

You will collaborate with Account Managers, Tender and Pricing teams to create tailored customer solutions and work closely with Customer Operations to optimize consignment management and leverage MyAlcon360 where available.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Driving IOL portfolio growth  by increasing penetration rates for PC-IOLs and Toric/Monofocal IOLs  across private and public healthcare sectors.
  • Managing tender requirements , working with internal teams to develop and submit competitive proposals.
  • Running the Accelerator program  in select accounts to boost engagement and adoption of advanced IOL solutions.
  • Developing new business  by identifying strategic opportunities and fostering partnerships to achieve sales targets.
  • Providing expert consultancy  on IOL solutions, ensuring customers have a clear understanding of our portfolio's benefits.
  • Maintaining and optimizing relationships  with existing key customers to uphold long-term business success.
  • Analyzing competitor activities  and providing insights to internal stakeholders for strategic positioning.
  • Representing Alcon professionally , ensuring our brand is perceived as a trusted partner in surgical eye care.
  • What You’ll Bring to Alcon:

  • Degree in Sales, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field  (advanced degree preferred).
  • Experience in surgical sales or medical device is a plus , ideally within ophthalmology.
  • Strong technical expertise  in intraocular lenses and their clinical applications.
  • Proven ability to develop new business  and maintain key customer relationships.
  • Highly effective communication and negotiation skills , with a strategic mindset and results-driven approach.
  • Languages:  Fluent in English and Dutch
