About the Role
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of this effort — designing and deploying state-of-the-art ML systems that power real-world robotics. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of embodied intelligence from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Deploy ML Models: Train, optimize, and deploy ML models to support real-time robotic perception, control, and reasoning.
- Build Scalable Pipelines: Design end-to-end ML pipelines from data ingestion and training to evaluation and inference.
- Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with research, robotics, and software engineering teams to move ideas into production.
- Maintain Code Quality: Write clean, scalable, and well-tested code; participate in code reviews and uphold high software standards.
- Stay Cutting-Edge: Stay plugged into the latest in ML (transformers, diffusion, multimodal models) through ongoing learning and internal research exchanges.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field, with 6+ years of experience in ML, software engineering, or applied research.
Required Skills
- Strong Programming Skills: Expertise in Python and/or C++ for production-level systems.
- ML Expertise: Hands-on experience with large-scale ML training and deployment using frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Flax.
- Modern ML Techniques: Deep knowledge of transformers, diffusion models, and multimodal learning applied to robotics, vision, or NLP.
- Infrastructure Know-How: Familiar with building ML infrastructure, version control (Git), CI/CD practices, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
- Team Player: Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across domains with engineers, scientists, and product teams.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced ML Techniques: Hands-on with reinforcement learning, imitation learning, incremental learning, or model optimization/compression.
- Simulation Experience: Familiarity with robotics simulators like MuJoCo, Isaac Sim, or Drake.
- Edge Deployment: Experience deploying models on robotic devices and/or with ROS.
- Big Data Processing: Skills in parallelized data frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, or Ray.
- Scalable Training Expertise: Familiarity with distributed training using tools like Ray, PyTorch Lightning, or KubeFlow.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and orchestration tools (Airflow, AWS Step Functions).
- DevOps & Automation: Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and containerized environments.
