Lead Engineer – Industrial Sound Insulation & Mechanical Engineering (Dutch or English speakers welcome). Manufacturing Industry · Rotterdam Region · Technical Lead for Complex Custom Projects · €5,000 – €6,000 gross per month · up to €82,000 per year Introduction Are you an experienced mechanical engineer who enjoys taking technical ownership within complex custom-built projects? In this role, you will work on innovative sound insulation solutions for the industrial, maritime, construction, and energy sectors. You will be involved in projects from start to finish and collaborate daily with engineering, production, suppliers, and customers. Due to the company’s strong growth, there are currently two Lead Engineer positions available within a close-knit and technically driven engineering team. Your Responsibilities As a Lead Engineer, you will be technically responsible for a wide range of engineering projects within a multidisciplinary production environment. You develop technical concepts and translate them into manufacturable solutions and production drawings You collaborate with project management on the technical progress, quality, and feasibility of projects You provide technical leadership to an engineering team of up to 5 mechanical engineers and other specialists You maintain contact with customers, suppliers, production, and internal stakeholders throughout the entire project lifecycle You monitor standards, production quality, documentation, and technical specifications You remain involved from the concept phase through to final delivery at the customer site Company Profile The organization is a well-established player within the technical manufacturing industry and delivers high-quality custom sound insulation solutions for international clients. Engineering, production, assembly, and installation are all managed in-house from a single location. The company employs approximately 300 people, many of whom work in production and engineering. The culture is informal, hands-on, and technically driven, with short communication lines between engineering and production. Employees often stay with the company for many years due to the collegial atmosphere, stability, and shared passion for technology. Purpose In this role, you ensure that complex technical projects are successfully designed, produced, and delivered. You act as the technical link between engineering, production, and the customer, ensuring that solutions are not only technically sound but also practical and manufacturable. With your experience and communication skills, you make a direct impact on the quality, efficiency, and progress of projects. Your Profile Bachelor’s degree level (HBO) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Minimum of 5 years of experience within mechanical engineering, machine building, industry, maritime, or construction-related engineering Experience with production techniques such as welding, steel structures, and sheet metal fabrication Strong communication skills and experience coordinating engineers within projects Experience with ERP and PDM systems and maintaining technical documentationGood command of the English language and the ability to work effectively within a Dutch-speaking environment Preferred Experience with Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software What We Offer Salary between €5,000 and €6,000 gross per month depending on experience Maximum annual salary of approximately €82,000 including holiday allowance 25 vacation days and 13 ADV days in accordance with the Dutch Metal & Engineering collective labor agreement The opportunity to work on technically challenging custom projects within a growing organization Short communication lines between engineering and production, enabling fast decision-making and direct impact Informal and collegial working atmosphere with quarterly drinks, sports activities, BBQs, and company events #J-18808-Ljbffr
